Step-by-Step: EPLAN Electric P8 to Brady Label Export Pipeline

Step 1

Generate Connection List Report

In EPLAN Electric P8, open your project and navigate to Utilities > Reports > Generate. Click the New... button and select Connection list.

Step 2

Configure Schema Columns (Cross-Section & Designation)

In the report template settings, map the following connection properties:

  • Connection Designation (Wire tag number)
  • Connection Cross-Section / Diameter (e.g. 0.75 mm², 1.5 mm², 2.5 mm² or AWG)

Export Connection Schedule to Excel / CSV

How do you export a wire connection list from EPLAN Electric P8?

In EPLAN Electric P8, go to "Utilities" > "Reports" > "Generate". Click the "New" icon and select "Connection list" as the report type. Under the "Output" tab, select "Manual export" and choose "Excel file (*.xlsx)" or "Text format (*.csv)". Ensure connection cross-section, source device tag, destination device tag, and wire connection designation are selected.

How do metric EPLAN wire cross-sections (mm²) convert to AWG and Brady label heights?

Common EPLAN metric cross-sections map directly: 0.75 mm² is ~18 AWG (0.080" OD -> B-427 1.00" H / B-342 3/32"), 1.5 mm² is ~16 AWG (0.095" OD -> B-427 1.00" H / B-342 1/8"), 2.5 mm² is ~14 AWG (0.133" OD -> B-427 1.50" H / B-342 3/16"), and 6.0 mm² is ~10 AWG (0.185" OD -> B-427 1.50" H / B-342 1/4").
