EPLAN Wire Schedule to Brady Label List Converter
Convert EPLAN Electric P8 connection lists and Pro Panel wire routing reports into orderable Brady BOMs. Map metric wire cross-sections (mm²) to American Wire Gauge (AWG), size B-427 self-laminating vinyl or B-342 heat shrink, and quantize roll packages with zero guesswork.
Step-by-Step: EPLAN Electric P8 to Brady Label Export Pipeline
Generate Connection List Report
In EPLAN Electric P8, open your project and navigate to Utilities > Reports > Generate. Click the New... button and select Connection list.
Configure Schema Columns (Cross-Section & Designation)
In the report template settings, map the following connection properties:
Connection Designation(Wire tag number)Connection Cross-Section / Diameter(e.g. 0.75 mm², 1.5 mm², 2.5 mm² or AWG)Source Device Tag + Pin(e.g. -K1:A1)Target Device Tag + Pin(e.g. -X1:14)
Export Connection Schedule to Excel / CSV
Choose Manual export > Excel file (*.xlsx) or Text file (*.csv). Save the file to your project directory.
Paste into Brady BOM Builder for Instant Procurement
Paste your connection rows into our Online BOM Builder. It automatically resolves metric mm² values into equivalent AWG dimensions, applies 2x multiplier for both ends under UL 508A / NFPA 79 rules, and rounds up to integer rolls.

EPLAN Wire Marking FAQs
How do you export a wire connection list from EPLAN Electric P8?
In EPLAN Electric P8, go to "Utilities" > "Reports" > "Generate". Click the "New" icon and select "Connection list" as the report type. Under the "Output" tab, select "Manual export" and choose "Excel file (*.xlsx)" or "Text format (*.csv)". Ensure connection cross-section, source device tag, destination device tag, and wire connection designation are selected.
How do metric EPLAN wire cross-sections (mm²) convert to AWG and Brady label heights?
Common EPLAN metric cross-sections map directly: 0.75 mm² is ~18 AWG (0.080" OD -> B-427 1.00" H / B-342 3/32"), 1.5 mm² is ~16 AWG (0.095" OD -> B-427 1.00" H / B-342 1/8"), 2.5 mm² is ~14 AWG (0.133" OD -> B-427 1.50" H / B-342 3/16"), and 6.0 mm² is ~10 AWG (0.185" OD -> B-427 1.50" H / B-342 1/4"). Our BOM Builder accepts both AWG and mm² notations.
Can EPLAN Pro Panel 3D routing wire lists be imported directly?
Yes. EPLAN Pro Panel outputs a detailed wire schedule containing exact calculated cut lengths, strip lengths, and wire designations. You can copy the wire gauge and quantity columns directly into our BOM Builder to calculate the total Brady label rolls and thermal transfer ribbon cartridges required for the entire assembly run.
How does Brady Workstation handle EPLAN connection CSV files?
In Brady Workstation "Custom Designer", select "Import Data" > "CSV/Spreadsheet", select your EPLAN file, and bind the Connection Designation and Source/Destination columns to dual-line text zones on B-427 or B-342 templates.
