Engineering Sizing Rules for Wire Markers

1. Heat-Shrink Tubing (3:1 Expansion Rule)Choose a sleeve size whose supplied inside diameter (ID) easily slips over terminal lugs, but whose recovered (fully shrunk) ID is smaller than the minimum wire outer diameter.

2. Self-Laminating Overlap Rule (π × OD)The clear vinyl tail must wrap around the wire circumference at least 1.0 to 1.5 times. Ensure: Total Label Height ≥ (π × OD) + Printable Zone Height.
